Nursing Care

Care homes providing nursing care offer the additional assurance of qualified nurses on duty who are on hand 24 hours a day to plan and deliver nursing care and other forms of specialised support.

You should consider nursing care if you have an illness or disability that means you require regular or complex nursing support, or if you suffer from a progressive illness or condition that is likely to cause your health to deteriorate such as:

  • Parkinson’s disease
  • Dementia
  • Huntington’s disease
  • A stroke
  • Post-operative care

Nurses are supported by Care Assistants who work alongside them to deliver the personal care and practical support.

We offer 24-hour support to those with conditions that necessitate regular or specialised nursing care. All of our nursing care homes provide:

  • Qualified registered nurses
  • Long and short-term nursing care options
  • 24-hour expert nursing care
  • Comfortable, well presented accommodation

We care for residents who are privately funded or who have funding from their local authority.

You might want to consider a nursing home if your loved one has a condition that needs regular medical attention. Nursing homes often provide specialist care for specific conditions and events. Our nurses and carers get to know residents and their families, and treat residents with compassion and respect to make their time with us as comfortable as possible.

A personalised care plan is prepared, highlighting their personal preferences, individual needs and wishes as well as any medical care they may need.

End of Life Care

Also known as palliative care, this is the care of people nearing the end of their life who have an illness where recovery is not expected.

Providing care at such a difficult, stressful and emotional time requires expertise, compassion and respect, towards both residents and their loved ones. Our aim is to ensure their physical, psychological, social and spiritual needs are considered and met.

In particular, we focus on:

  • relieving suffering by managing physical symptoms such as pain, sickness, tiredness or loss of appetite
  • psychological care and emotional support to address the complex feelings experienced by residents and their families around death and bereavement
  • recognising and embracing the spiritual or religious needs of our residents and their families
  • gaining an advanced understanding of residents’ and families’ wishes in case their health should start to deteriorate
